Music at St. Paulus
Contemporary as well as traditional musical styles are
represented at St. Paulus.
The Church is blessed with an excellent pipe organ constructed in
1971 by
Werner Bosch of Kassel, Germany. The Bosch Organ is 49 ranks, 3
manuals,
and is all mechanical (tracker) action. Its placement in the
rear balcony gives its
speaking voice a place to fill the whole building. The Church has
been the site
for numerous organ recitals and choral concerts throughout its
history.
St. Paulus invites choral and instrumental groups to participate
in its regular
Sunday Celebrations, by providing music throughout the worship
service for
special occasions.
Various performing groups which have participated on Sundays
include the
Oakland Jazz Choir, the S.F. Girls Chorus, the Golden Gate Boys
Choir and
Handbell Ringers, the Lighthouse Singers of Marin, as well as
numeous soloists
and musicians
